We are all very familiar with the saying that 'every manager should be a coach', but quite often ineffective skill transference occurs because managers and team leaders do not have the required coaching, counselling and mentoring skills. This in turn will also have negative implications for objective setting and delegation.



During this one-day highly interactive workshop, participants will:
  • Clarify the meaning of effective coaching

  • Develop a systematic approach to a coaching event

  • Practice the skills of objective setting

  • Practice the skills of giving and receiving feedback

  • Acquire an understanding of the link between performance management and effective coaching

  • Learn to differentiate between the need for coaching and the need for counselling and mentoring

  • Develop a model for effective mentoring using enhanced influencing skills

  • Learn how to vary the counselling / mentoring approach to deal with team member diversity

  • Practice counseling skills and receive feedback

  • Develop action plans to integrate coaching and counselling / mentoring skills back into the workplace
